(Series 1, Edition 1) Deep red with vestiges of purple remaining in the rim; the bouquet shows sweet raspberry jam, mulberry and cassis aromas, the fruit driving it, while the palate is very powerful, full bodied and firm, with masses of tannins that coat the mouth and firm the finish, adding to its length and drive. Oak is evident but well in check. An unusual style for a flagship red wine thanks no doubt to the eclectic varietal mix. The price is startling.
