The 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin Poissenot is a rich, textured red bursting with oak. The French oak adds volume and depth, but also marks the wine, which is a shame considering the purity of the fruit. Dark berries, spices, licorice and leather inform the expansive, creamy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. Drink 2018 - 2028.
