Huon Hooke
Deepish red colourwith a good tint of purple. The bouquet is berry-ish as well as spicy and loaded with fumy garrigue-herb aromas. The palate is powerful, intense and concentrated, with slightly extractive bitter tannins that add a not-disagreeable refreshment to the finish. Blueberry and sage aromas, very distinctive and loaded with personality. A superb wine in the making. It needs time and will richly reward the patient. (58% merlot, 42% cabernet sauvignon)

58/42% merlot/cabernet sauvignon, matured in French hogsheads (21% new) for 18 months. This vintage celebrates 30 years of the Abbotts Prayer Vineyard in Lenswood. A lifted beauty on the bouquet, resplendent in rose petal, violet, cassis, raspberry, bush mint and anise. Firm and focused on the palate, with an undercurrent of undergrowth, earth and graphite. Drink 2021 - 2032.
