Huon Hooke
Good depth of colour—medium ruby with purple tints. Bell-clear aromas of sweet ripe cherries, fruit driven and pure, with less obvious whole-bunch influence, although a spiciness grows as it airs in the glass with time. Terrific depth of flavour, intensity and subtle concentration, backed by fine grained but insistent tannins, all contributing to a penetrating and lasting persistence. A superb pinot noir which is still emerging and needs another year at least in the bottle.
