Bright, medium deep red with a tinge of purple; there are charred wood and odd medicinal (whole-bunch?) aromas while the palate is firm and quite deep, but somewhat stern in its structure and asking for more time and/or some protein to go with it. The finish is chopped a bit short. A bit more time could work well here.
