R.S.R. stands for Reschke Special Reserve and there is little doubt that this is a bit special. The grapes are the best the Estate offers, from their Henry Albert vineyard, planted in 1998 in Coonawarra. The wine spends 18 months in French oak hogsheads, before barrel selection determines the final wine. Dark, almost mysteriously so, this wine offers notes of mocha, chocolate, coffee beans, soy, florals, and spices with fully integrated oak. This is balanced, intense yet elegant. A wine with finesse. Silky tannins, exceptional length, the palate sees the emergence of violets and aniseed notes. This will provide pleasure for eight to fifteen years with ease. Drink 2024 - 2039.
