90 Points Robert Parker
The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the finest red wines I have yet tasted from Katnook Estate. It reveals textbook weedy/black currant aromas intermixed with high quality toasty wood, followed by rich, medium to full-bodied flavors that unfold on the palate with considerable precision and purity. Although not a blockbuster, it is a concentrated, authoritatively-flavored, finesse-styled Cabernet that should drink well for 10-12 years.

88 Points James Halliday
Medium red-purple; the bouquet is clean, with cassis berry fruit of medium intensity, supported by subtle oak. The palate is finely balanced and modulated, with more cassis berry fruit, fine tannins and subtle, gentle oak. Drink to 2006.
