90 Points James Halliday
Very dense purple-red; the bouquet is rich and complex, with luscious fruit and plenty of oak in modern style. The palate is solid and chunky, with rich plum and mulberry fruit woven through generous oak. Drink to 2013.

Deep garnet colored with a touch of brick, the 1998 Shiraz reveals an abundance of complex, evolving fruit aromas on the nose: mulberries, figs, dried cherries and tobacco over hints of black tea, leather and sandalwood. Medium to full bodied and densely laden with layers of mature fruit and savory flavors, it is nicely balanced with a medium level of velvety tannins and refreshing acid, finishing long and layered. Still possessing some primary fruit, though delicious right now, it should have more to give and drink to 2020+. Source: Robert Parker (eRobertParker.com) February, 2012 by Lisa Perrotti-Brown
