Huon Hooke
Very savoury, dried herb aromas typical of this oddball year. Rich and fleshy, lots of sweet fruit, full and generous, if not especially refined. Touches of licorice, and quite a concentrated wine with a fair spike of acid lifting and carrying the palate along. Firm tannins. An odd man out. Out of style

Medium purple-red; spotlessly clean black cherry and blackberry fruit on the bouquet is followed by largely fruit-driven palate, but with more weight and complexity than the Bin 128. Ripe tannins. The oak contribution is evident, but far from dramatic. Drink to 2010.
