Ranked #3 of 30 2000 Shiraz from Barossa Valley

Bob Campbell
The developed forest floor bottle-age characters in this intense yet elegant wine contrasted with the more youthful characters of other wines in the tasting. It gives a glimpse of what it will be, beacuse the wine has another decade or so of positive bottle development ahead of it. Weighty (but not heavy) Shiraz with an array of dried fruit, chocolate, coffee and anise flavours

The classic 2000 Command Shiraz (aged nearly three years in new oak) possesses an opaque purple color as well as aromas of melted licorice, new saddle leather, roasted meats, truffles, black currants, and blackberries. Full-bodied and chewy, with supple tannin and a blockbuster finish, it will drink well for 10-12 years.
