Excellent vintage. Deep red colour, a hint of purple. Slightly loose-knit aroma. Almost a hint of 'dead fruit'. Walnutty oak and pruney fruit. Very rich and smooth with vanilla, chocolate flavours. A big boned, slightly hollow wine, but it lacks fruit and vibrancy and seems rather dried-out. Future uncertain.

Dusty, earthy, black fruits and mocha aromas; springs into life on the palate, with wonderfully long and persistent red and black fruits; gentle tannins and oak. Quality cork. Drink to 2021.

Deep garnet colored, the 2001 Hill of Grace offers aromas of warm red currant, black cherry compote, blackberries and dried Provencal herbs with an earthy undercurrent. Full, rich and well-structured in the mouth, it has crisp acid and a medium to firm level of rounded tannins, and finishes long with up-lifting herbal notes. Drink this one now to 2025+.
