Ranked #47 of 74 2005 Shiraz from McLaren Vale
Deep red purple. Big earthy rustic old-fashioned bouquet. Sweet-fruit, very ripe grapes; a touch on the overripe side, lacks elegance and subtlety. Tannins are assertive but not over the top. High alcohol warmth, a touch syrupy, and alcohol dominates the finish. Rustic, but a decent wine.
85 Points Robert Parker
The 2005 Shiraz “Symphony” is more reticent, clipped, and compact than the 2004.
