Medium red, faint purple. Shy dusty earthy nose; liberal wood, but well integrated. Almost rancio oak-matured character! Amontillado-like! Nice flavours, lots of oak effect but integrated and quite layered. Unusual style, but I quite like it. Query a hint of greenness, buried deep in the wine.

Strong colour; ripe but vibrant blackcurrant, mulberry and spice aromas and flavours; a medium-bodied palate which easily carries the alcohol, and has very good texture and structure. Drink to 2014.
