Ranked #1 of 56 2009 Sémillon from Lower Hunter
The bouquet reveals a superbly mellow middle-aged semillon with straw, hay and toasty aromas, the palate crisp and dry, savoury and intense with great length and perfect balance. At 11 years, it's still fresh and refined, a great example of semi-mature Hunter semillon.

92 Points Robert Parker
Medium-bodied and frankly a bit broad for the genre, the 2009 Vat 1 Semillon has evolved rapidly. Chris Tyrrell calls it a "softer-acid year," and while it still shows some lemony flavors, it's also moved on into notes of smoke and honey. Drink it over the next few years.
