Ranked #8 of 39 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra
(From magnum) Dense, dark red-purple with black tints; the bouquet is very oaky and somewhat minty. It's a massive wine, which is still nowhere near ready to drink. It's far too big, young and aggressive today (but perhaps 750ml bottles will be more approachable). There is undoubtedly major concentration, power and uncommonly massive structure for a Coonawarra cabernet.
Drink: 2021 to 2041
96 Points James Halliday
Beautifully crafted and delineated cassis fruit, framed by gently toasty oak and some floral notes; the palate is rich, deep, fine and very long; the brightness of fruit at the core is the essence of this wine. Drink to 2030.

Very deep garnet-purple, this 2006 Cabernet has a pronounced earthy / loamy nose with notes of menthol, warm blackcurrant, tobacco leaf and tree bark. The palate presents a structured style with a high level of acid and firm fine-grained tannins, possessing just enough flesh and a long savory finish.Source: Robert Parker (In Asia) January, 2011 by Lisa Perrotti-Brown
