Huon Hooke
Medium to deep red/purple colour. Subdued plum and redcurrant aromas, but comes into its own in the mouth, with intense flavour and good length. Licorice. Sweet middle, then firm-edged tannins. Very good balance and drive. Medium to full-bodied and a touch lean, but very elegant

Outstanding vivid crimson-purple; the perfumed bouquet is exquisite, with red and black fruits in a swathe of violets and rose petals, then a supremely elegant and intense palate, the finish exceptionally long. Clearly should have won the Jimmy Watson trophy ’10. Due for release towards the end of ’11; 650 dozen made. Drink to 2030.
