Huon Hooke
Light colour; brick-red with a purple rim; the bouquet is restrained too - but balanced and savoury, with no single element prominent. It's light-bodied but smoothly fleshy, savoury and very well balanced. Fine texture. An appealing ready-drinking pinot: a subtle, effortless wine that sneaks up on you.

Light, clear crimson-purple; the red berries, spices and red flowers of the bouquet pave the way for a palate that is at once elegant and intense, silky yet fine tannins underwriting its texture and structure. Drink to 2022.

One of the great vintages for Main Ridge Estate, this is a pinot noir of great character and allure, with impressive detail and concentration of flavour, layered with spicy, wild strawberries, red cherries, mixed spice, pepper and rose hip. A seamless assemblage of crunchy berry fruits, grand spice and finely textured tannins carry long and effortless through the finish. Best price direct. Drink 2017 - 2027.
