Huon Hooke
Deep red/purple colour; saturated for a pinot. It's subtly fragrant, smelling of red and dark fruits, violets and spices, with some dried herbs also. In the mouth, it's concentrated and powerful, deep and dense, with power and presence. The acidity is lively and there is some alcohol heat high on the back palate. A powerhouse of a pinot. If anything it's a touch too butch, with tannins and alcohol sticking out at angles, but the wine has great potential.

96 Points James Halliday
Destemmed, wild-fermented, 18 days on skins, 17 months maturation in French oak (50% new). Deeper colour than The Acre; signals its intentions with the first whiff of the black cherry and plum bouquet, building on that with the powerful, yet fluid, palate where the fruit flavours run amok, satsuma plum to the fore, black cherries also featuring. Drink to 2028.
