Huon Hooke
Deep purple/red dense colour. Chocolate, vanilla and toasty oak aromas. The palate is full-bodied and firm, tight and concentrated, density and flesh are the hallmarks. Packed and supple, plush and velvet, smooth and supple, fruit sweet but not over the top, with chocolate and fruitcake flavours. Ample tannins provide big structure. Very long.

Very deep, purple-black in color, the 2008 Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Malbec reveals aromas of Chinese dried plum, Christmas cake and dried mulberries with hints of charcoal, smoky bacon, mocha and licorice. Very full-bodied and packed with spicy, dried berry and prune flavors, it has a refreshing acid line and medium levels of velvety tannins, finishing very long. Drink it now to 2019+.

Deep purple colour; lavish amounts of everything are to be found in this wine: a cascade of black fruits ranging through blackcurrant, blackberry, mulberry, plum and licorice; firm tannins are in balance with the fruit; all the fruit and tannins are wrapped in a thick coating of French oak. Drink now if you are likely to take a $130 bottle to a barbecue, and, failing this, it needs up to 10 years in the cellar to calm down and learn manners. Drink to 2030.
