Huon Hooke
Deep red/purple colour and a dusty, earthy bouquet with hints of flowers, violets and dark berries as it airs. There's a cedary note from the barrels. The palate is full-bodied and firm in structure, tight and gripping, with length and completeness. Very good, and it has potential to blossom in the future.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color and showing a nose redolent of crushed blackberries and black cherries plus hints of died Mediterranean herbs, pencil shavings and forest floor, the medium to full-bodied 2012 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon offers mouth-filling blackberry flavors complimented by a kiss of oak and a medium to firm, grainy tannin frame. It finishes long with a pleasant herbal lift. Drink it now to 2022+.

95 Points James Halliday
A no-nonsense, full-bodied cabernet speaking with equal clarity about its variety and place of origin; tannins and French oak are woven through its intricately textured and structured palate, giving it balance that will ensure beyond doubt its long-term future. It is then (say 15 years) that it will sing loudest. Drink to 2037.

Density and generosity meet immaculate purity and tightly scaffolded structure, as layers of dark fruit intensity wash over dark chocolate oak and into a finish of streamlined focus, enduring persistence and impeccably polished balance. There''s an elegant liveliness in the midst of such concentration, with fragrant lift and bright acidity. Tannins are very finely textured. It''s engaging from the outset, but will take a decade to fully show its best. An outstanding release for Devil''s Lair. Drink 2020 - 2037.
