96 Points James Halliday
The Patritti vineyard in Blewitt Springs was planted in '69; open-fermented and basket-pressed, racked at 4-month intervals over 18 months after mlf, matured French puncheons, egg white-fined. Extraordinary! Well, on paper, but not in the glass as it turns out. This must have had mind-boggling power in the wake of fermentation, and is still power-packed. Anyone who drinks this before '23 will be guilty of vinocide, anyone thereafter will be inordinately pleased with themselves - and the wine. Drink to 2050.
