89 Points Robert Parker
Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2009 Whalebone Vineyard Cabernet Shiraz reveals an evolving nose of creme de cassis, dried mulberries and blackberry preserves with nuances Indian spices, mocha and sandalwood. Medium-bodied with a good core of maturing black fruit preserve and spice flavors, it is supported by chewy tannins and crisp acid before finishing long and drying. Drink it now to 2018+.

96 Points James Halliday
An 84/16% blend aged for 22 months in 70% new French oak. Blackcurrant fruit is the main driver, albeit backed up on the mid-palate by more fleshy shiraz; it is medium-bodied, perfectly balanced, the tannins silky, the oak not at all over the top, the finish long. Drink to 2029.
