Medium to deep red colour with a purple tint. The bouquet is shy and reserved, with a smoky char oak note and a hint of chaff, while the palate is full-bodied and rich, with neatly infused oak flavour and some tannin grip. There's abundant ripe cherry flavour, too. Very good wine, the best I have ever tasted under The Acre label.

The quality charges at you, the finish lingers on in to tomorrow. This is a superb pinot noir; powerful, sinewy, savoury and yet awash with pure, varietal, characterful fruit. It's a wine of seamless complexity and terrific length; it's a stunning wine. Drink to 2030.
