Huon Hooke
Deep red colour with a tinge of purple, the bouquet suggests raspberry jam or even Ribena cordial: almost DMS-like (dimethyl sulfide). It's reminiscent of very ripe Eden Valley shiraz. The wine is rich, fleshy, fruit-sweet and well concentrated in the mouth, with soft but assertive tannins and good texture. Long finish with a hint of alcohol warmth. It's a generous shiraz in a jammy, super-ripe and fairly tannic style.
