Huon Hooke
Medium to deep red colour with a tinge of purple, the bouquet spicy and lifted, with some flesh and richness and soft tannins which run throughout. There's a bit of VA (volatile acidity) here. The wine is elegant and easy to enjoy young, but there is a disturbing trace of volatility.

Hand-picked from the old Pokolbin Estate vineyard, small batch open-fermented, a small portion matured in new French puncheons. Excellent deep crimson hue; a very good Hunter shiraz, lush fruit given an extra touch of class from the oak. Drink to 2041.
