Deep red/purple colour, youthful and bright. The bouquet is ripe and blackberry-like, while the palate is grainy-textured and has a note of graphite. The tannins are firm and bold and the finish has energy and length. It would benefit from a little cellaring. Very good, if not especially Penfold-like.
