Deep, young red/purple colour. The bouquet is a little subdued but is savoury, earthy, slightly charcoaly: not a simple fruit wine but more complex and mysterious. The wine is full-bodied and the tannins are firm and savoury, structural and balanced. Deep-set cherry and berry flavours. The finish carries well-sculpted tannins and lingers on well. A stylish wine with lots of potential. (Footnote: this has more weight and tannin than this vineyard has previously displayed)
