Very deep, dark, dense purple/red colour. Rich fleshy and fruit-sweet, but no suggestion of overripeness. Some spiciness seemingly from the oak. Delicious wine and I really like the structure, which is firm and upright, but not tannic. Very good.

This is a no-holds-barred, super-ripe example of the Barossa, with fruitcake spice, liqueur soaked plums, toasty oak all on display; the palate is warm, rich, unctuous and pushing the ripeness envelope, but not so far as to be disastrous, as the tannins and acid bring the finish back in to line. A little time will be good, and if you are looking for weight over finesse, this may be the wine for you. Drink to 2025.
