Wine Reviews by Vintage

Domaine Charles Baur Gewurztraminer 2008

Sweet but good.

I am not an avid drinker of this varietal. I do however love Alsacian Riesling for its minerally freshness and mild acidity. This wine to me is just a sweeter version - almost like a sticky without the viscosity. In fact I think it would make a great desert wine. Loads of apple and pear, nicely balanced and at 13% a little less punishing than a sticky.
