Veritas Heinrich Shiraz Mataro Grenache 2001

Classic South Australian Blend

This wine is drinking beautifully at the moment. The bouquet was enticing. Still lots of black stone fruits but overlayed with truffles, earth and woodsy notes. The wine was full bodied but not heavy, and had almost a slight touch of sweetness on the palate, which served to round out the still elegant and well defined fruit characters.A great accompaniment to a grilled eye fillet with creamed spinach and salad.

Medium to full bodied. Quite an upfront wine. Fruit driven nose but the palate seems to have lost the vibrant freshness that i suspect this wine needs to bring everything together. Nonetheless a pleasant enough drop.
