  • What is My Cellar?

    The software that powers the My Wine Cellar area of the site provides you with a complete wine cellar management tool. It allows you to keep comprehensive records of all your wine, including the quantity of each wine that you own, where it is kept, how much you paid for it and its cellar history. My Wine Cellar does most of the mundane work for you. When you buy wine through Cellarit, all details are automatically recorded in My Cellar. Once a My Wine Cellar record exists, you don't have to manually maintain it; it is updated every time you sell wine or use the Request Delivery function to change the wine's location. My Wine Cellar will become the only tool you need to manage your collection and to record years of enjoying fine wine.

  • Where is my wine kept?

    My Wine Cellar maintains a record of your wine, regardless of where you keep it - at Cellarit, at home or at your office. Wine Storage is located in the Sydney suburb of Wetherill Park. We offer next day delivery to metro Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as well as a collection service. Deliveries into Wine Storage from retailers, wineries or other sources are welcome.

  • How does wine I buy get listed in My Cellar?
    • You can manually record details of wine you buy and cellar at home or elsewhere, so your My Wine Cellar records will keep track of every wine you own.
    • When you buy wine through the Wine Market, it appears automatically on your my Wine Cellar list regardless of where you have it delivered to.
    • If you buy wine from a different supplier for delivery to Wine Storage, you should catalogue it first and then use the Transfer to Cellarit feature to notify us to expect delivery. We will verify that the wine on your list matches what we receive.
  • How do I get wine delivered from My Cellar?

    My Wine Cellar lists all the wine that you own. Some, perhaps most, of your wine may be in Wine Storage, but that doesn't mean that it's inaccessible. To have it delivered, use the Transfer From Cellarit feature and follow the prompts to choose the amount you want delivered and the delivery details. Cellarit's warehouse is on the same site as its national courier company, so your wine delivery is fast, efficient and overseen by Cellarit from start to finish.

  • I get other wine delivered into My Cellar?

    Yes, the Transfer To Cellarit feature lets you have wine delivered to Wine Storage from wherever you currently have it cellared.

    • For example, if your wine is at home, catalogue it into your home wine cellar and then use the Transfer to Cellarit feature. You can elect for Cellarit to pick up your wine or you can drop it off yourself.
    • If your wine is coming from a retailer or a winery that is not part of the Cellarit network, you'll need to notify us by filling out a simple online form. This is so we can check and verify that the wine arriving into Wine Storage is exactly the wine the you ordered. We will report any discrepancies to you.
  • Do I pay for a full month if I take wine out or close my account?

    No. You only pay storage and insurance fees for the days of the month that your wine is in storage. For example, if you have 100 bottles and you take 12 of them out of storage on the 10th day of the month, you only pay for 10 days of storage and insurance for those 12 bottles. If you take out all 100 bottles on the 10th day of the month and close your account, you only pay for 10 days of storage and insurance for all 100 bottles. Similarly, when you put wine into storage, you only pay storage and insurance fees for the days of the month that your wine is in storage.

    Furthermore, because Cellarit's fees are billed in arrears and not in advance you don't have to worry about forfeiting any pre-payments. If you do choose to close your account by taking out all of your wine, we'll calculate an estimate of your fees for the month and take a pre-payment from your credit card to cover your final invoice.

  • How do I find out more about a wine in My Cellar?

    My Wine Cellar tells you the name, vintage, bottle size, quantity held and cost of each of your wines. The colour of the wineglass icon to the right of each wine's details tells you at a glance whether the wine is sparkling, white, red or fortified. You can find out more about each wine by clicking on the "i" icon. My Wine Cellar then provides you with further details, including a winery note, the region the wine is from, its wine cellar history, condition, rating and the history of each of your purchases of that wine.

  • Can I change My Cellar's records if I no longer have a wine?

    Yes. If you drink a wine or if your inventory changes for any reason, you can alter it by clicking on the icon in My Cellar. If your wine is in Wine Storage, you cannot change the quantity - it will adjust automatically when you remove it by choosing Transfer From Cellarit.

  • How do I use My Wine Cellar?
    The "My Cellar" section provides 2 types of useful functions:
    1. Information about what is in your collection

      The wine you own is grouped by location so you can keep track of what you have in Wine Storage as well as your home or office. The white box on the left hand side of the page provides a summary. You can click on any location for quick navigation. Within each location, wines are sorted by winery, then label and vintage. The icons under each wine provide additional information about the wine, its history of when it was added to your collection, the ability to alter its price and quantity or to delete the wine from your collection. Note: You cannot adjust quantity or delete wine that is in Wine storage from this menu.

    2. Add new wine, Transfer wine into or out of Wine storage and View invoice information.

      These functions are grouped on the left hand navigation bar. For example, clicking on "Send Wine to Cellarit" takes you step by step through the process of adding wine to your collection stored at Cellarit. Each of these functions are explained below.

  • What's the difference between Send Wine to Cellarit and Catalog My Wine?

    Send Wine to Cellarit is a quick "one-stop" function to notify Cellarit of a delivery. It combines Catalog My Wine and Transfer to Cellarit. Use the latter functions if you wish to Catalog wine that you will not send to Cellarit or to Catalog wine where only some of the items will be sent to Cellarit. Any items that you do not send to Cellarit will appear on your screen inside a separate Wine Cellar location.

  • How do I "Send Wine to Cellarit"

    Use this function to send wine to Cellarit that you have not catalogued previously. This function combines Catalog My Wine and Transfer to Cellarit into one easy process.

    Step 1 Choose a winery (Penfolds) by typing it into the Winery box. If you already know the name of the wine (Grange) you can type that into the Name box instead. Alternatively, if you're not sure of the winery spelling, try our Winery Selector. It lists all the wineries in our database for all countries.
    After step 1, the software will load all of the relevant wine into the drop down list in step 2.

    Step 2 Choose the wine from the drop down list and enter details for vintage, bottle size, quantity, cost (just the numbers, no "$") and information about condition (leave the last blank unless there are bottle defects).
    The software copies the wine name down to the other entry boxes to help you enter several vintages of the same wine. When you finish with that wine, choose another wine from the same winery or click Add Wines to enter your selections and move onto another winery.

    Important: Many wineries produce several types of one variety such as shiraz. Please take care to indicate which label corresponds to the wine in your collection.

    Each time you click on Add Wines, your selections are added to the list at the bottom of the page. You can edit the information if you made any mistakes.

    Step 3 If the information on the list is correct, click Deliver Wines to arrange pick up of your wine or to notify Cellarit that it will be dropped off by yourself, a courier or a retailer. Upon completion, you will receive an email confirmation of the transfer and a transaction number.

  • How do I "Catalog My Wine"?

    Use this function to create a personal online inventory of wine or several inventories if your wine is stored in non-Cellarit locations. Each location is called a "Cellar".

    Step 1 Choose a winery. Change the country if necessary - the default country is Australia.

    Step 2 Choose the wine from the drop down list and enter details for vintage, bottle size, quantity, cost and information about condition (leave the last blank unless there are bottle defects).

    The software copies the wine name down to the other entry boxes to help you enter several vintages of the same wine. When you finish with that wine, choose another wine from the same winery or click Add Wines to enter your selections and move onto another winery.

  • How do I "Transfer To Cellarit"?

    Use this function if you wish to transfer wine from a current location (such as home or office) to Cellarit.

    1. Create an inventory of the wine using the "Catalog My Wine" feature (see above).
    2. Use the "Transfer To Cellarit" feature to arrange pick up of your wine or to notify Cellarit that it will be dropped off by yourself, a courier or a retailer.

    It is vital that you notify Cellarit of a pick up or drop off as above so that your wine can be checked into the warehouse properly. The inventory that you create allows us to verify that your shipment is correct.

  • How do I "Transfer Wine From Cellarit"?

    After sign in, click Transfer From Cellarit. You will be guided through a series of easy to use screens.

    The first asks which wines you would like. Type the number of bottles that you want for each wine or choose Select All.

    The next screen asks if you want your wine delivered or available for pick up. If you choose delivery, you will be prompted with the addresses already listed in the system. Or, you can choose to type in details of another address. This screen also asks for delivery instructions if nobody is home value and whether or not you want an online record of the transfer to be displayed in your online cellar (either way you'll receive an email confirmation of the transfer with all of the details for your records). The screen also displays the insured value of your wine in transit using the values from My Cellar.

    The final screen provides a summary of your selections. If all of the details are correct, proceeding from here generates an electronic message to the Cellarit warehouse to remove the wines you've chosen, package them and deliver them to you.

  • How do I List My Wine for Sale in the Cellarit Wine Market?

    In order to list your wine for sale it must be in Cellarit's wine storage facility.

    If you'd like Cellarit to collect your wine please use Catalog My Wine and then Transfer to Cellarit for larger collections or the quicker Send Wine to Cellarit form for smaller collections.

    Once your wine is in Cellarit's wine storage facility please view the simple instructions about How to Sell Wine. The instructions also include information about fees and commissions and how your wine sales proceeds are paid to you.

  • How do I use my "Wine Storage Account "?

    At the beginning of each month, Cellarit computes your total charges and places the detailed information on your page. After sign in, click on Wine Storage Account, check your invoice details and then follow the payment instructions. You will be sent to a secure payment screen that accepts Visa and MasterCard. Once you make payment, your invoice details will be removed from the screen until the following month when new details are posted. Cellarit recommends that you keep each month's email for your records.

    Alternatively, you can make an advance payment of any amount that you choose. Cellarit will post a credit to your account. Your invoices will continue to arrive via email and be available on the site, but you won't need to make a payment until your credit runs out. You can make an advance payment by cheque, credit card or bank transfer.
